I would occasionally see the screen go black while using my lights, but now it is continuous. I played an HDR game on my PS5 and now, the box won't stay on. The lights go out, then the screen tell me no signal, then the lights slow on, and the screen cuts over the the image, and immediately the failure state repeats.
It only happens in HDR mode. In regular 4k mode, the image is stable, and lights stay on.
Software bug? Hardware failure?
I guess it doesn't help that I got a new phone, and even though I restored from backup, the lytmi app has lost the pairing with the box, so I cannot check the software with the app.
Well, I spoke too soon. Definitely stayed on much longer, but not it is back to reporting no video, and the lights went out. I did confirm that the box did not actually crash, just the LED driver refuses to set the light colors, nor pass the video through the box to the TV, as I was able to join it to the app, and I can still send commands to the box. In the game, the video is offline, but if I exit out and return back to the Home Screen of the PS5, the video comes back on.
Update, I forced HDR off on the PS5, and the box doesn't reset anymore. Definitely an HDR bug of some sort.
