Hi @Jack
I appreciate that you guys have tried to keep us updated regarding the Dolby Vision &HDR challenges, but I am confused at the different messages regarding HDR, Dolby Vision and we need to use splitters etc and yesterday I got a message from support@light-mi.com saying "The latest firmware can support Dolby Vision without the splitter"
Is there a way that you can either update the forum in a specific area as things change - or make sure we get the same messages from support and the forum?
I am now totally confused as to what I will get delivered? what features it will support? how long the LED strips will be? Will the HDR reduced colours be disappointing? Would things be better with a splitter? What would the splitter need to do?
Maybe we need a FAQ section?
Did you see what i see 🤣
Congrats, still trying too get a straight answer as to the info I require to ship a package from the UK to Germany
After send back this not working as advertised product today i got my money back!
Guys,
you should google for DreamScreen4K and their old forum, that was an alternative for Ambilight. I've followed both DreamScreen and DreamScreen4k, paid a lot of money but for HDR or 4K it never worked fine. We checked splitters and so one ... nothing worked for all issues. The company is dead now, and all issues started with a bad communication by the company. I've ask the lytmi support with special questions for their solution, the answers shows me that the way is very long. I've checked this forum here and can see the commonalities, between both solutions. In many threads are still answers missing and nothing happenend. Hopefully this attitude will be changed quick by lytmi!
With me dolby sometimes works and sometimes it doesn’t. Hows that possible without splitter?
HDR files are very vivid. But DV files don't respond correctly. The colors are all wrong. Here is a DV file. All DV files are like this. But non DV HDR10+ & HDR play normally.
Hi, I have been reading the comments here. I bought/have the HDMI 1.4 version with an HDMI splitter. It works great. I just bought the HDMI 2.0 version and by reading these comments I don't see any reason for the upgrade/update. Can anyone share any benefits to upgrading from the 1.4 to the 2.0 version? Thanks.
The product is used but it does not work as advertised so it is a kind of cheating funny that they can offer their splitter so quickly they must have already had ready. This all looks to me like a rip-off and they want to talk themselves out of it with the policy but that will not work.
Thats exactly why I am not even going to try to install it - I have just opened the box to check the contents and photo what was in the box - checked that the LED strips where 200mm short etc. I think your point is valid in warning people that this is a product that 'may' not be satisfactory when compared to what was promised and therefore do not attempt to install it if you have any doubts in the product performance.
Any response will be good so I can then move it onto a Paypal dispute
They will tell you, you can't send it back because policy 😂
My Neo 2.0 kit etc arrived yesterday - but as there seems to be several unresolved issues with this product compared to what I thought I was getting I have mailed support@light-mi.com requesting a return of my Neo setup.
Currently waiting for response - will keep the forum posted on what happens
For Dolby vision, it only works with Splitter for the time being and we are trying to find the solution without using the Splitter, but right now the answer is still negative. For HDR, we are still working to get it more saturated than the current "whiter, lighter, and paler", though it's unarguably caused partly by the inherent feature of HDR, but it's still a problem for all the lytmi customers and for ourselves also. For the shorter light strips, this is found only with the 65''.
For the corresponding solutions:
DV: offers a free splitter, 15% lifetime discount or contact our support team(support@light-mi.com)
HDR: the HDR is indeed lighter than SDR, so if you can't accept that fact, contact our support.
Shorter light strips: contact our support.
Same here. It seems like support hasn't been informed about Neo 2.0 issues.
I got my NEO 2.0 box and haven't even opened it yet because other people have so many problems with HDR. I'll just return it back in a week or two if HDR lighting won't be solved or at least have a solution.
It's just sad that NEO 1.4 version with splitter has a better HDR performance than Neo 2.0.
Will HDR low contrast colors ever be solved for first buyers? What splitter will actually do for TV and for lighting? What is an actual latency (because it's not "Zero latency")?
Support mostly gives us answers about things that we can read on the box or website. ourselves.
I did ask how I would know whether I was on the latest update or what release number they reckon includes the fixes. No response so far.
Lytmi's communication is pretty poor isn't it. It's more confusing than anything. Is there an update to download via the app?
