Hey Team, in April you wrote their will be an USB Extension. Let me please know when o can buy, please. I am also Not able to use my New Neo 2.0 because my Samsung qn95 has an connection Box and it is flat mounted.

If i understand right it will make now Sense to buy a Common USB externer, right.

I have contacted support a couple of times asking for what USB extension cable they recommend. The answer is always the same: "Please try with 2.0 USB cables. Due to various specifications of the USB extension cable, we cannot guarantee that it will work. Our light strip does not support USB data transfer."

To be able to light different colors an addressable LED strip must be used. Addressable LED strips work using 3 lines: power, ground and data.

A close inspection to Neo's LED strips reveals three contacts. It also reveals one WS2811 controller per segment (http://www.world-semi.com/technology/details-129-3.html) so, it's a regular addressable LED strip.

Since USB 2.0 Cables have four contacts (plus shield) my guess is LightMi is using three of these contacts in a particular way. Hence, the remark "Our light strip does not support USB data transfer."

The USB standard calls for contact 1 and 4 for power while 2 and 3 are for data transfer. It would be much easier if LightMi would disclose the way they are using the USB A connector, but it seems we will have to find it by our own.

I seem to have the same issue. I am using USB extenders too but the box is not detecting the light strips… I will have to mount it behind my tv and try again.

Keen on hearing solutions on how to extend the usb reach. Tried USB extension cables and it didnt work. Has anyone tried 3.0 extension cables?

I was using usb extenders and the device didn’t work. I found away to tuck the lytmi behind the tv without extenders and now it works

Im glad I came to the community 1st before purchasing. I want this product so bad, but want to make sure it can accommodate my setup 1st to avoid a return. I currently use a LG 77" GX OLED. So because my unit is flush mounted to my wall, I too intended to run usb extension cables since the sync box would not fit behind the tv. Sad to hear there is no remedy for this. I will not be able to buy this product for this reason. In the future if there is a update to this solution please let me know. I'd love to purchase this product.

Hi sorry to hear that, but this is kind of high demanding and the lights' synchronization functions is kind of delicate, so it's not recommended extending the light strips.
