    Weekly Update(Jan. 4- Jan. 8): Unexpected lockdown, shipment may delay

    Hi Guys, what’s up, this is Jack. Here is the Lytmi(Light Mi) weekly update.


    1. First, big news first, as someone affected with the COVID 19 had been to our office building somehow, so there is a lockdown. The consequence is direct and comprehensive. The most noticeable one is that the shipment maybe delayed somehow as currently we don't have access to the warehouse. We are deeply sorry for the foreseeable delay caused by the unexpected lockdown. Hope you can understand that.




    2. Second, for pc version software, after got some feedback from the earlier reviewers, we have further updated the lytmi software. Below are some major improvements:

    1st: color syncing optimization especially when the screen is black

    2nd: usb port reading and connection optimization especially when there are multiple screens

    3rd: device ID and screen ID optimization, similar to the second point that is mainly targeting at the multiple screen scenario, that addresses the occasional failure in reading the correct device ID or screen ID.

    3. Third, for those already purchased lytmi products, be it neo 1.4, neo 2.0 or pc ambilight, here is the chance for you to get a free cup of coffee money.     Hi Jack. Thank you for the software update. I'm still missing an option for color correction. Also the software can't remember last state. If I set it to pure color and close the software and start it again it always starts in Movie mode. After that I need to open software, got to mood and then select pure. Then it starts in the red color instead the color I set so that I need to find out my personal color again. If the software is running and I switch between MOVIE and MOOD it remembers the state.

    The solution isn't optimal at all. Please let the software start at last mode, state and color where you left the software. Please add 4 additional slots to the color selection where the user can add his custom colors for quick selection. Please add RGB number fields to set the color manual as values instead only on that color circle. And I'm still asking you to add the bottom light like it's on NEO. I don't understand why you removed that just because it's a computer display. Regards and good luck to get access to your office soon. Andreas

    in addition: I got still 45fps instead of 60fps with V-SYNC on.

    @Jack may I ask why the Neo firmware can't be updated? I see an update section in the app and even an auto update option. (however it's in Chinese)


    Seems a little farfetched that you guys can't update the firmware.

    @Jack so the people that bought the first batch of sync boxes are out of luck when it comes to HDR? if Firmware can’t be updated will we all be provided with replacement sync boxes?

    i have a replacement sync box coming because my original one wouldn’t respond to on and off commands. I was told from customer service that the replacement box didn’t need a splitter for Dolby vision to work.

    I feel like the first batch of buyers that paid full price for the product are being used as product testers. There are way too many bugs and problems for it to be a final retail product. I want HDR to work. I bought it originally because it was marketed as working.

    please let me know what’s going on so I can deal with my credit card company.

    is a splitter needed for Dolby vision on the new boxes? is firmware not updatable on the original boxes?

    I think the same, I have everything installed on my tv and I don't want a splitter and another device behind my tv. I hope that to those affected by box 2.0, Lytmi complies and replaces only the box (as long as it is solved and working), since my strips are glued to the tv and I am not going to move the tv again, until everything is solved , or the anchors fall, which are already beginning to take off. I hope they solve these problems soon, buy for their specifications on their pages and for the reviews of the youtubers and it turns out that it does not work as advertised. We encourage you on your return to work and hope for solutions soon.

    @Hancock Jose Splitter is an option, if you can't accept that, you can contact our support team. Sorry for this.

    My 2.o did not come with splitter and I went through every option I could to get HDR or Dolby and it cannot happen, they said I didn't need splitter but I do according to Samsung, so they agreed to ship one to me, I hope they have and I have a second one coming.

    @Patrick Swigert @Patrick Swigert they are shipping you a splitter or a new box ? I’m getting shipped a new box that I was told from customer support, doesn’t need a splitter. But everything on this forum tells me a different story. @Jack is saying we still need the splitter. I want him to clarify if the firmware is updatable. If not, then my unit can‘t process HDR correctly, which means I was sold a product that can not perform to what was marketed and advertised. We have bait and switch laws in the USA. This can potentially be that case if the firmware is not updatable. basically we are product testers that paid full price for the item. Jack and customer support aren’t even on the same page. Poor communication within a company is a telling sign.

    I hope everything works out, but I need my original answers addressed. If they go unaddressed I will take the next steps and contact my credit card company.

    I just hope they have sent the splitter I need for the first order and I hope it is true that it will be included in the second order since all my tvs are the same samsung, I wish they would send out information on splitter shipments like a tracking number or maybe they packed the other splitter with the second box coming, any way I would like to track and see that two are coming. I have no problem, just waiting on my two splitters

    For HDR, it's always working, just the effect is not as saturated as SDR, which is the fact for other similarities. For Dolby Vison, we are working to update the firmware so that it doesn't require the splitter. For those who can't accept the splitter option for DV, you can contact our support team.
